From Kauai

I figured it was time for a proper post. We are having a great time in Hawaii. Hard to believe that there is only one week left, or that we have been gone for two weeks already.  In Maui we toured around a bit and re-visitied some of tour favourite places wEd been before. In Kauai (where we are now) we rented a house on the beach (owned by author KristinAQand have spent most of our time at the house playing at the beach. Kevin and Michael did a hike and we have checked out a few different coffee shops but mostly we are just lazing around - which is so unlike us. In two days we are off to Ohau so we can go to Pearl Harbour and so  Kevin can run on Wikiki beach in extra short shorts - to relive scenes from Magnumi P.I.!

A few funny stories:

Max has an ear infection - and could not hear anything for a day or two which proved to be a little comical. He would sing to himself the Wheels on the bus, and not being able to hear it very well would then yell at himself - say it louder! Then he would sing it again, over and over until he was screaming.

Every am in Kauai we are awoken by the crows of roosters and an evil neighbour playing a pan flute. One morning after the flute woke Kai up extra early,  Kevin decided to go find that flutist, (who Maria was convinced was a Buddist meditating). Kevinn ran out of the house with Kai but did not find him. Later after he had returned to the house he heard the flute again. Once again Kevin ran outside. This time scareing a rooster who flew into the side of the house - but alas he did not find the flutist. Later I asked the gardener about the flutist and she told me it is a bird that sounds like a flute. Now if I could only find the bird that plays the drums on the weekend unil midnight ....
