Leaving Seattle

We enjoyed Seattle.

We'll I did. We shopped in my favourite district. We ate at Wild Ginger and stayed in my favourite Seattle hotel.

We went to the spice market at pikes place and had breakfast at the Four Seasons ( which was gross! I am writing trip advisor). We paid our respects to REI and .... Then the tears flowed... We'd promised the kids a trip to the flight museum but neither of us felt like going. We bought off Kai and Claire with a drive thru McDonald trip, but Max could not be bought. We are bad parents!! We felt bad ( well I did at least) the whole drive until we saw the Boeing future of flight sign!! We made a sharp U turn and turned into the boing future of flight museum - which Kevin hopped was free. Ha ha! The sign said "book ahead and save". Max was delighted!!! There was dancing and singing and joy all over again. But wait! It's July 4 th. doh! No wait its open. We go inside but no one is tall enough for the factory tour.

Doh! So we ended up in the gift shop and at an old war plane museum around the ground. It was tre boring. I don't think the kids will ever ask again

Quoting Kids

Kai and Max are fighting over a skateboard. I tell them to sort it out. Kai has a brainwave "I know Max, lets cut the skateboard in half".

Max is thinking about a helicopter and tells us he's going to have one when he is older. Kevin inquires about when he would use it. He tells us, "Only in emergencies".

I was telling the kids about the fish I saw in the water while snorkling. Kai asks, "Did you see a Dorey fish (the blue fish in finding Nemo)?". I tell him I did. "Did it talk to you?" he asks innocently. I tell him it didn't. "Next time, you see it, can you ask it to talk to you?". He is too cute. I can't burst his bubble. I promised to try.

I took the kids to see Charlottes Web at Bumbershoot theatre. On the way home Max is thinking about the girl who played Wilber. "Mom will we ever see Wilber again?" I try my best to explain that the pig was a person acting like a pig. "I know but if we Wilber takes off her pig costume and drives by us, will we see her?" Kai is listing to all of this and decides it is time to really explain things to Max. "Maxi, we can't see the pig, because Pigs don't drive."
