We got a new 1939 tractor.
Max named her Marianne after the book "mike Milligan and the steam shovel"
Yesterday our gardener sent me this hilarious text: "Hi... things didnt go good i got down in the pit and that is where things took a turn for the worse i got down and now i can't get out, will call you tonight ok" I came home to find Marianne was at the bottom of a pit where we are preparing a burn pile and Jeremiah had escaped and gone home.
Friday morning our excellent neighbour, John, came to dig us out! I guess we should not have trash talked (jokingly) his Jon Deere to him last week!!
John was unable to pull us - so we tried another neighbour and a large tractor - to no avail. So now we were in trouble... we needed something else -- a MASSIVE tow truck/bill. Lol

Shortly after this, the Firemen arrived (a scheduled visit) to approve our burn pile... but it failed inspection because the Chief was concerned that we might accidently drive the tractor into the pit while we were trying to feed the fire .... little did he know.... we'd just towed it out about 30 minutes before he arrived!!
Claire, off course enjoyed wearing the Chief hat and the kids enjoyed the firemen.
