We are in Torriomolinos, on the coast. Our internets been down the last few days, so I haven't posted. We rented this crazy Europe circa 1950 style apt which is at the top of a high rise. It's like ten degrees cooler up here than on the ground. It smelt like smoke when we moved in so we opened the 180 degrees balcony doors and moved the beds out on to the deck- there is probably room for 7 twin beds. So now we sleep under the stars and the hotel billboard. At first we made fun of the place but we've come to like it. Kevin is like a little owl in his windy, sun free, perch - consisting of beers bought at bodegas, free Internet (when not too many people are using it - we are in room 9101so there are lots people using) and a typical plastic table and four plastic chairs. Seriously though I think has the best from anywheres in town and the beach is across the street. The kids visited a butterfly museum here and loved it. They got to see butterflies in all periods of life. One butterfly took its first flight straight to Claire. Speaking of the Claire, She has Flamenca fever. Last night she put on her dance outfit and went downstairs to the lobby and sang and danced on stage with the bar singers. Her opening song was I believe in Miracles, which was wring on so many levels, but i never tried so hard not to laugh ever She was a riot. Tonight Kevin is taking her on a date to Pepe Lopez's bar to see real Flamenco girls at 10 pm. Here are a few pictures of the hotel. Leo is sleeping in the brown blanket tucked away on the deck for the night and the one of our tv just cracks me up because it is the same size as my iPad. Lol. The bath tub pic is how I did the laundry in the hot tub in our room at the first hotel.
Leaving for Granada in a few days and then back to Portugal for five days. We had planned to stay in Spain the whole time but I think we are done here and ready to move on. We liked Portugal better

Thanks for the updates. It's nice that you are willing to blog while on holiday... it makes me feel more involved! :) The view from the apartment is great - wow. I assume from the pictures that the weather has been nice. Where did Claire get that flamenco dress? So cool! All the things you were studying in home school have suddenly come to life. :)
ReplyDeleteNot going to comment on every post (well, I might;), but I LOVE that your are blogging again. Kevin needs to take you to Spain more often:)
ReplyDeleteLove Claire's flamenco dress:) I'll bet she was hilarious and CUTE on stage! Also, washing your clothes in a bathtub - have to remember that one - very impressed with how you take everything in stride.
